Burbank Theatre opned as a live theatre venue in 1893 and went through several theatre managers over the next few years without success. The theatre was leased to Oliver Morosco in 1900, who operated the venue as Morosco’s Burbank Theatre since 13 August 1900 with productions starring James Neill, among others. In 1919, the venue was operated as Pelton’s Burbank Theatre and in 1921 it was operated as Gore’s Burbank Theatre. The theatre is known to have presented motion pictures but when the practice began is unknown.

The theatre was operated as a newsreel venue in the 1930s, and received an Art Deco remodel in 1937. In later years, the seating capacities were reduced to 1703, 1580 and then to 1027 seats. By 1945, the theatre was operated as the Burbank Burlesque Theatre, and by the early 1950s as the New Follies Theatre or alternately as the New Follies Burlesque and the New Follies Burlesk.

The building was demolished in March 1974.
